colorado rocky mountain elopement

Is there anything more Colorado than eloping in the mountains with your dog by your side? Sarah and Tim’s Rocky Mountain elopement is the perfect example of how to create a beautiful, intentional, and personalized day of saying “I do.”

They started the day with their first look and private vow ceremony at sunrise.

It was important to Sarah and Tim that the day was full of moments to pause and be present with each other, enjoy the beauty around them, and to fully take in the joy of their commitment to each other.

For coffee enthusiast Sarah, there was no better way to accomplish this than by savoring a perfectly crafted pour over following their vow ceremony.

Sarah and Tim’s elopement photographer Maggie Bradshaw, set up the most beautiful breakfast picnic for them to enjoy.

After some more tromping through the mountains, a champagne toast, and lunch in town the couple joined their immediate family at the inn for an intimate reception.

When working with Sarah on the floral aspect of her big day we came up with two design options, one working with fresh florals and one working with dried and preserved florals. Both options were inspired by Sarah’s love of nature, her adventurous spirit, and her mismatched china aesthetic.

Ultimately Sarah went with the dried option as this provided several logistical advantages.

  1. She didn’t have to worry about keeping flowers hydrated throughout the day. The dried bouquet was a perfect adventure elopement companion.

  2. Sarah was able to rent a collection of bud vases with dried florals and use these at both the intimate family reception on the day of the elopement and later at a larger family and friends reception.

  3. The dried bouquet made a beautiful keepsake that was instantly ready to display in her home.

If you’re looking to escape to the mountains for your big day consider a dried flower bouquet to carry with you. Whether you’re looking for a fresh or dried bouquet, SK Floral Design is ready to make your vision come to life. Inquire here for florals.
